Indy TeleMedicine Launches Nov 2022
In the year 2008, just during the big market crash, my best friend’s parents were visiting USA. The parents lost their luggage during the commute and were desperately in need of medicine. They tried using their international health insurance, which was not covered in many hospitals and clinics in Indianapolis. One had Hypertension and the other had Diabetes.
Our Physician at that time was a first year of Medical Residency. She could not help those parents due to being in her first-year residency. After calling many facilities, they finally had to go to Emergency room to get a small dosage of medicine.
During that time frame my best friend lost his job and his health insurance with a new baby in the home. We saw the struggles they had to go through to get simple health care needs, some of which could have been managed remotely by managing medicines and ordering or reviewing tests.
Telemedicine was at its infancy during that stage, and it crossed our minds that it could be a great avenue to deliver simple health care needs where the patients don’t have to visit Physicians and have an affordable alternative.
Fast forward to 2020, we saw the Pandemic taking a great toll on patients and health care workers, however telemedicine provided a safe, effective, and alternate solution for patients to receive the benefits of health care professionals. It was then we planned to provide a simple, convenient, fast, and affordable health care solution to our patient population.

Meeting Your Healthcare Provider Made Simple
How does medical care of a telemedicine visit differ from an inpatient visit?
Telehealth — sometimes called telemedicine — lets your health care provider provide care for you without an in-person office visit.
Telehealth is done primarily online with internet access on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Virtual visits are growing in popularity. Though in-person office visits may be necessary in certain cases, there are many benefits of telehealth care.
Limited physical contact reduces everyone’s exposure to COVID-19.
Virtual visits ensure you get health care wherever you are located – at home, at work or even in your car.
Virtual visits cut down on travel, time off from work, and the need for childcare.
Virtual health care tools can shorten the wait for an appointment. Increased access to specialists who are located far away from your hometown.
The quality is often the same. You can get the same high level of care from home as you would in your doctor’s office. In one survey, nearly 63% of patients and almost 60% of doctors said they thought virtual visits were just as effective as in-person ones. Webmd, 2021
